EVENT SUMMARY

As many as 543 people have participated in a “Polish Startup Night”, an event which took place on the 29th of June 2017 in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA). The main incentive to organize the event, was a study visit of the representatives of Polish business in the US, including those of 8 Polish startups –  the finalists of the Polish edition of MIT Enterprise Forum . The ,,Polish Startup Night’’ was organized in Kendall Square, the very heart of innovation, by the Venture Cafe foundation and the Polish team of Cambridge Innovation Centre. Startups from Poland were given the opportunity to share their ideas with the members of an innovative community from 39 different countries. They are the brains behind innovation everyday on the east coast of the USA. Throughout the day startups from Poland also manned a stand promoting Mazovia’s and Warsaw’s innovative ecosystem of Poland. The participants also had the opportunity to talk to the representatives of Polish Industrial Development Agency, Polish Investment and Trade Agency as well as other Polish corporations which drive innovation everyday. Below are the statistics from the event. Feel free to contact us if there’s anything else you’d like to ask about. We’ll be happy to answer your questions!

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY ABOUT THE EVENT

  • The event itself and a series of meetings we had been up to is only one example of the revised mission of PAIH – providing high quality promotion and advisory service for Polish technology-based companies in their global expansion effort.

    Krzysztof Senger
Member of the Board at Polish Agency for Investment and Trade
  • It was terrific to see so many people attend and such an active level of interaction between Polish and US entrepreneurs. I think this created an open door for future collaboration between Warsaw and Boston. This is an important part of our mission and we were very pleased with the outcome.

    TIMOTHY ROWE
Founder and CEO at Cambridge Innovation Center
  • It was a fantastic and inspiring event. I want to give a huge shout-out to those who organized it! I’m convinced that the discussions and the exchange of views as well as experiences between the innovators will result in a great many interesting projects. My participation in the event has confirmed my belief that supporting innovative concepts, which is one of the main ARP’s objectives, is a risk worth taking.

    Michał Szaniawski
Vice-President of the Managment Board at Industrial Development Agency
  • It was fun and inspiring to see so many crazy-tech people from various walks of life who were enthusiastic about turning their brilliant ideas into business. And seeing so many Polish folks among them is a true sing that something important is going on. And this is the right direction.

    Daniel Maksym
Deputy Director of Department of Economic Development at Polish Agency for Investment and Trade
  • Thanks to our joint efforts, with the great support of MIT EF and MIT Media Lab, the distance between Poland and Boston came down dramatically. We look forward to the continued cooperation between MITEF Poland and CIC, to service the best and the brightest of the Poland’s tech community.

    Bogy Skowronski
MIT EF Poland board member and co-founder
  • The Polish Startup Night was a well-orchestrated event connecting Polish startups and innovation leaders with Boston’s ecosystem. A crucial step in expanding the innovation bridge and fostering relationship building opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. Thank you to all of those involved!

    Maciej Oldziej
President at Polish American Networking Association, Co-Founder at Innovate Poland
  • Polish Startup Night was a fantastic event where startups, mentors and all other participants involved in the Boston startup ecosystem could meet, exchange experiences and discuss potential collaboration. Polish startups had the opportunity to see the best of the US startup scene.
